Sermon Date: September 11, 2016
Sermon Topic: The Main Thing
Sermon Notes:
Because
people are drawn to the message of prosperity they miss the main thing. 1
Corinthians 2:1-5 – The main message is that Jesus was crucified – that’s the
main thing. Salvation is the gift of God.
Apart
from Christ there is no hope for us. The cross is God’s plan for redemption. It
pleased the Lord to have Jesus on the cross. It’s the triumph on the cross.
Jesus triumphed over Stan at the cross.
When
you’re forgiven don’t let people lay things on you that was forgiven already.
When Jesus died and was resurrected we had the victory.
Just
say what God says. The Gospel is the message of Christ. The cross redeems man
from the curse of the law. Jesus destroyed the power of Satan. I don’t have a
problem with God he has a promise for me. Jesus made us alive with him and
forgave all our trespasses.
Salvation
is a transformation.
Salvation
is complete.
The
cross unites believers.
Salvation
demands a human decision.
We
must repent and turn away from sin. We must profess with our mouths to be
saved.
We
are no longer sinners. We don’t need religion we need a relationship with
Christ. God has all power and grace.
We are in him – we have the power!
