Sermon Topic: World Communion Sunday Message

1 Corinthians 11:23 – This world communion Sunday was celebrated by the church to signify Christ’s death for our sin. Romans 5:8 – While we were sinners Christ died for us.
Matthew 26: As often as you do this. You don’t have to wait until the first Sunday to do Communion. Acts 2:42 – This was something they did daily.

Communion creates a relationship with believers and each others.

The blood represents Christ’s atoning work. There is nothing you can do to be saved on your won. It’s by God’s grace. Romans 3:23 – All have sinned.

The blood cleansed us all from sins. Ephesians 2:13 – We were far off. We weren’t born to be anxious to be in Church. It took the blood. 1 Peter 18:19 – We couldn’t purchase salvation.
Leviticus 17:11 – Blood has great significance in the Bible. Blood and life are dependent on each other. Without shedding blood there’s no remission of sin.

When Adam sinned; it came upon all of mankind. Hebrews 9:22 – Christ died for the remission of our sins. Communion is the highest day of celebration. Don’t take this lightly. This is a celebration. We should be prayerfully considering it.

Once the wine and bread has been consecrated it has already been the body and blood of Christ.
We should have a holy attitude when we come to the table.

If there is something between you and another, you must get it right. You can’t come to the table with bitterness, hate or division in your heart.

It’s impossible to have communion between righteousness and unrighteousness. Fellowship with God demands a pure heart. Psalm 24:3 – There must be preparation. 1 Corinthians 11:28 - We must examine ourselves.

You know what’s in your life.
The church was coming together for fellowship and a spiritual connection.
This is one of the most fearful things because it’s a sure sign of backsliding and compromise.
1 Corinthians 5:7-8 – Communion purges these attitudes.

Before we come to the table we should be prepared Psalm 26:2 – Examine me Lord.
We are separated unto God. 1 Corinthians 2:10 – You can’t drink from the cup of the Lord’s and from the cup of the devil.

The Lord keeps us. 1 Corinthians 5 – If any man is called a brother and involved in wickedness don’t eat with them or fellowship with them.

Holiness is essential. 2 Corinthians 6:14 – You are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
1 John 1:2 – Don’t love the world nor the things in it.

1 Corinthians 15:4 – It’s not the life of Jesus that saved us but the death and resurrection.
We must look within. Examine yourself, look around and see the other saints of God. Wherever we can help, we help. Whatever it is, we are a forgiving people. There will be times when you’re right and there’s an issue with someone, you must be the person to make the first move.

I can’t live a fulfilled life if I’m not in the right relationship with you.
