Sermon Topic: Laity Sunday – What is Laity
Presented by:  Sis. Cozette Gray

L = Love
Love is God’s greatest gift. God is love. John 3:16 – without love we couldn’t make it. Anytime you give your only child for the world that’s love. If God can love like that, why can’t we?

Matthew 5:4 – This is a commandment we must keep. How can you love those who do you wrong? When you have God in you – everything about you changes. They should be able to see you in that light.

We need to learn to listen – listen to God’s voice. The devil speaks to you too. You need to know who to listen to.

Learn to laugh – we can’t be so heavenly minded that we are no earthly good.

A= Always
This is a six letter word with a lot of responsibility. Always – be ready to serve and always rejoice in the Lord. Mathew  28:20 – go if you have to go by yourself. God never leaves you. He is with us always. In the mountain and in the valley. He always is there and he always keeps his promises.
Luke 4:18 – Anointed – we are anointed to preach the gospel. If you’re always serving God, always be in his image.

I= Image
Image – Genesis 1:26 – if we are going to be an image of God, we can’t do everything and go everywhere. We must be like God if we want to serve.
God did it all – Matthew 12:36 – without God there is no I. Speak faith-filled words. Don’t be ignorant about God’s words. We need to study the Bible. Know the word in order to live the word. Lay servants have spiritual responsibilities.

T= Trust
“Oh Taste and see that the Lord is good”
Trust and obey. We must trust him to be our savior, comforter, shelter, bread, water, even the air we breathe. Whatever we need, he will be. No matter what, you’ll be tempted. As soon as you get busy for God, Satan gets busy for you
Testify – everyone is a testimony. When you get a chance to testify for God, let somebody know what God has done for you.

Mark 45:1 – he give his life as a ransom to all of us. We can always find something to thank God for. Something to testify about. God has saved us and molded us in his image.
We must always be ready to tell someone about the God we serve.

Y=Yield
Yield not to temptation. Each victory we win will help others win. Say, “Yes Lord”. He is our power. He is faithful.
