Sermon Notes:
John 5:22 – For the Father judgeth no man, but
hath committed all judgment unto the Son. The subject matter covers
one of the most important decisions in your life. Yielding your life to Christ.
Why do we need to be saved?
When
Adam sinned – man was separated by sin. We were born in sin and shaped by
iniquity.
Romans 5:12 - Wherefore,
as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed
upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Romans 6:22 – But now being made free from sin, and
become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end
everlasting life. This vertells the price of sin. Everyone who isn’t
born again is a walking corpse. Unless Christ is savior and Lord in your life,
you are dead.
Some
have the form of godliness but live in pleasure. 1 Timothy 5:6 – But
she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth. Those who live in pleasure
area already dead. You don’t have to do something to be saved. Doing things
wont save you. Some believe that you have to work to be saved.
Christ
died for all of us. Titus 3:5 – Not by works of righteousness which we
have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of
regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
John 3:16 – For God so loved
the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life. Every religion that takes
God and rejects Jesus is lost. You can’t be saved any other way.
Every
Christian was once dead in sin.
New
life in Christ brings new priorities. 1
Corinthians 6:19 – You were bought with a price. Christ sacrificed his life
on the cross.
Sin
cuts humanity off from God. Isaiah
59:1-2 - Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened,
that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between
you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not
hear. Your
iniquities have separated you.
If
there is iniquity in your heart the Lord will not hear you.
If
you find your prayers aren’t being answered, don’t look at God, look at
yourself.
It’s
up to you to take the first step to squash issues.
Romans 10:17 - So
then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:14 - How
then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they
believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a
preacher?
You
must hear the raiment word because that is
how faith comes. Jeremiah 3:15
– And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed
you with knowledge and understanding.
We
must hear and believe – that’s what faith is. Hebrews 4:1-7 - Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise
being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short
of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as
well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed
with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into
rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my
rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the
seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall
enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some
must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in
because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in
David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his
voice, harden not your hearts. He turns everyone from their sin. Evidence of the salvation is
everlasting life.
Ephesians 1:3 – Blessed be the God
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual
blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Everything that we need is
in Christ. All it takes is faith. Your mouth is a resource and a weapon.
Don’t
cancel out yourself by saying I can’t, I won’t or I don’t. Cast those thoughts
down. Keep saying Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Say it until
what’s on the inside shows on the outside. Your answers to every circumstance
is in the Bible. Call on the name of the Lord so you can be saved from your
enemies.
1 John 3:14 – We know that we have passed from death
unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth
in death.
1 John 4:7-8 – Beloved, let us
love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God,
and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God
is love. He that
loveth not, knoweth not God, for God is love.
The
enemy will try to tempt you with old things. Don’t let him – there is always a
way out.
Galatians 5 – Stand fast therefore in the liberty
wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of
bondage.
Stand
fast in the liberty. Don’t tie yourself up with that stuff. The adversary uses
the phone to create a riff in the church. Some things don’t need to be shared
or forwarded.
Galatians 3:1 – O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched
you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath
been evidently set forth, crucified among you? Seek those things that are
seated above where Christ sits. Set your affections on things above.
Discipline
your mind so it doesn’t get caught up in the world.
We belong to God, we must carry that image of Christ.
