How to Pray the Prayer of Faith
Sermon Notes:
All of the blessings of God are already ours; we need information
in order to access the power.
Speaking faith filled words brings us a blessing. We must be
mindful of fear and doubt. Fear and doubt must be mindful. Never let outward
circumstances to change our inner convictions. Can’t let situations remove us
from the word of God.
Isaiah 55:10-11 – 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow
from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it
bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word
be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it
shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto
I sent it.
The word will work when we work the word. We only need to
believe. A believer acts on the word of God. The word of God is a seed. We saw
that seed into our circumstances situations.
2 Corinthians 9:10 – Now he that ministereth seed to the sower
both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase
the fruits of your righteousness;) We are the righteousness of God. Jeremiah 1:12 – Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well
seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it. God will do what he said. He’s
waiting on faith-filled saints to speak the word into our circumstances to
bring about change.
The power of God’s word is realized when we realize that
there is power in what we say. Death and life is in the power of the tongue. Don’t
let anything to convince you to say something contrary to the word of God.
We must be in agreement with the word of God, which
transcends now or six months from now, but it doesn’t go anywhere. Be not weary
– don’t give up on God, if it hasn’t happened never let the flesh to make you
say things that are contrary.
Whatsoever you say – we have everything that pertains to
life and Godliness but if you don’t believe it, you won’t receive it. If you don’t
ask in faith – you won’t receive it – Hebrews
11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to
God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently
seek him.
Mark 11:22 – And
Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. Anyone who has faith in
God can speak to the mountain and believe that it shall come to pass. No matter
the time frame. Don’t allow time to change your confession. Just because it hasn’t
happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t happen.
Remember Caleb – God kept him for 40 years to bring him what
he promised. It will happen – you must watch what you say.
2 Corinthians 5:14 – For
the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for
all, then were all dead. I’m not just an old sinner. I have been seated and
seeded in heavenly places in Christ.
Spiritual growth is needed – we can’t pray to God one day
then speak against what we prayed the next day.
When I pray, I believe that I have it. I don’t wait until I
see it, that’s not faith. Find out what the word says about the things you
desire, and then pray for what you desire.
Don’t go to God with the problem; go to God with the answer.
God’s word is the final authority. Psalm
34:1 – I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall
continually be in my mouth. God gave us a choice to receive the
righteousness in Christ. What God says must be our main focus.
Matthew 6:30-31 – 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of
the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not
much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or,
What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Remain in what God has said. Don’t put the thought into
motion. When the thought comes, cast it down. Don’t say it.
Remember the mouth sets the stage for our lives.
Take God’s word and act on it. So whatever you’re dealing
with, take God’s word and act on it.
Act on what God says.
When we go thru things we shouldn’t get caught up in fear
because we know who’s in control.
Only with your eyes will you see it but it won’t come near
you. Isaiah 40 – Repetitiously speak what the word of God says and be aware of
those who came in to your environment with doubt.
In our daily lives there will be people who come to us that don’t
believe the word of God.
People will respond to fear but won’t respond to the word of
God. If you can believe – All things are possible.
The word of God is food.
Isaiah 40:31 – But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be
weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. All of this is incumbent upon
waiting. We need patience in order to live a victorious life. I don’t know
where he will do it, but I know that he will.
Saying something for so long builds up a stronghold in our
lives. If I’m speaking positive it builds up positivity in my life.
There are some things in our lives that we have talked
ourselves out of. There is correlation to faith and words. God’s word is the
answer. While you’re waiting, don’t be anxious.
Philippians 4:6 – Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer
and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Make your prayer words and your daily words, words of faith –
words that that are in agreement with God’s words.
When we pray – we pray based on the word of God.
We’re in Christ. We have divine promises and answers to
prayer. Psalm 91:14-15 – 14 Because he hath set his love upon me,
therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my
name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:
I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
Since he set his love upon me – I will deliver him. God didn’t
say you would be without trouble. But he will be with you while you’re in your in
trouble – deliver you from trouble and honor him.
Jeremiah 33:3 – Call
unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which
thou knowest not. Call upon me and I will answer you and
show you things you’ve never seen before.
You’re in prayer and God is saying, “I got you”. When the
wicked come upon you, they will stumble and fall – I’m not worried about them.
We are secure – if we walk in the word.
Don’t be concerned. Every morning get up happy. Don’t get up
wondering if you will be blessed. You are blessed because you’re awake.
True prayers is heard, but God doesn’t hear sinners. Psalm 4:3 – But know that the Lord hath
set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I
call unto him.
Repent and have a right relationship with God in order to
have access to the things of God.
The just shall live by faith. Those who are declared
righteous shall live by faith.
When you look at the Old Testament and the New Testament look
at what they endured. Paul was beaten. Peter, who denied Christ, righted
himself and became anointed.
The same anointing that rested on them rest upon us.
We have a covenant with God.
