Obedience Brings Blessings

Date: October 26, 2014
Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 8:17, 2 Chronicles 29:9-14
Sermon Topic: Obedience Brings Blessings

We are not to become prideful about anything that God has entrusted to us. As if you got it on your own. Your ability is not responsible for your success. God blesses us. We are supposed to enjoy our blessings, but we shouldn’t be puffed up.

We don’t own anything – it all belongs to God. My stuff is not my own – I am not my own. I belong to God.

In God’s hands is Power and Might. Wisdom comes from God.

The natural man and the carnal Christian can’t understand that all things come from God – because they get their education from outside of the Bible.

When you get the mentality of not enough – it shows a lack of faith. John 14 – the comforter will teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance.

When it looks like its not enough – God reminds us that the Lord is my Shepard and I shall not want. If I walk upright before God – he won’t withhold anything from me.

If I obey and serve God, I’ll spend my day in pleasure.

Nothing leaves heaven until something is released on earth.

You don’t sow and reap at the same time. Any seed you plant takes time to produce.

When we release what’s in our hand – God sows it.

Faithfulness to God reflects God’s fruitfulness.  Isaiah 55:2 – Why waste money on lottery tickets?
Hebrews 10:10 – when it doesn’t happen today or tomorrow – Don’t doubt God. He said it, he will bring it to pass.

How much time do you give God? How much time do you spend with God? Seek first the kingdom and all his righteousness. When you seek God, everything else will find you.

Obedience brings the blessings.

Be careful how you love money. Be careful with how much you love things.

He who loves abundance with increase is a fool. Your mind becomes occupied with stuff.

Giving is not God’s way of raising money. Giving is God’s way of raising children. Giving puts us in a position where we are like God.

Until you give yourself to God, you can’t give anything else.

There’s a purpose for giving. The purpose is 2 Corinthians 8:9-12 – I can’t give God anything grudgingly.

Your seed is the only influence that you will have over your future. You must honor the Lord with the first fruit of your increase.

The first thing from your mouth should be thanking God.

Your seed is a photograph of your faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Don’t give to be recognized by anyone – Do it for Jesus.

The seed that leaves your hand – never leaves your life. It enters into your future where it multiplies.
